Setup Guide
Get DailyExtract running in your Slack workspace in under 2 minutes.
Install the App
- a.Click the "Add to Slack" button on our homepage or below.
- b.You'll be taken to Slack's authorization page.
- c.Important: Use the dropdown in the top-right corner to select which workspace you want to install DailyExtract to.
If you have multiple Slack workspaces, you'll need to repeat this process for each one. Each workspace requires its own installation.
- d.Click "Allow" to authorize the app.
- e.You'll be redirected to a success page. Your 7-day free trial starts now!
Invite the Bot to Channels
DailyExtract can only read messages from channels it's been invited to. For each channel you want to monitor:
- a.Open the Slack channel you want DailyExtract to monitor.
- b.Type
/invite @DailyExtractand press Enter. - c.The bot will now be able to read messages from that channel.
Tip: We recommend inviting DailyExtract to your most active channels like #general, #team, #projects, etc. You can always add or remove channels later.
Receive Your Daily Digest
That's it! You're all set. Here's what happens next:
- Every night, our AI reads through the previous day's Slack conversations.
- We extract all decisions, action items, and key dates mentioned.
- At 8 AM, you'll receive a digest email with everything you need to know.
Note: Digests are sent to the email address associated with the Slack account that installed the app. Your first digest will arrive the morning after installation (if there were messages in the monitored channels).
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I install DailyExtract in multiple workspaces?
Yes! Each workspace needs its own installation. Just click "Add to Slack" and select a different workspace from the dropdown on Slack's authorization page.
Why can't I find the bot when typing /invite?
The bot only appears after you've completed the installation for that specific workspace. Make sure you went through the full "Add to Slack" flow and saw the success page.
Can DailyExtract read private channels?
Currently, DailyExtract only monitors public channels that the bot has been invited to. Private channel support may be added in the future.
What if I don't receive my digest?
Check that: (1) the bot is invited to at least one channel, (2) there were messages in those channels yesterday, and (3) check your spam folder. If issues persist, contact support.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your Stripe billing portal. Email us at support and we'll send you the link to manage your subscription.
